I worked at Mah-Kee-Nac (MKN), an all-boys sports camp in the Berkshires (western Massachusetts), during the summer of 2008 and 2009 as a photography counselor. While I took upwards of 1000 photos a day of kids doing everything from wake boarding to solving Rubik’s cubes, I rarely had the time to photograph anything else. The following photos are samplings of some that I squeezed in among those of the kids—hence “another side of MKN.” Nothing too crazy. If I ever have a chunk of free time, I’ll hunt through the tens of thousands of pictures from last summer and see if I can uncover anything else.

Whether or not I return to MKN again, I’ve loved every frantic moment, staff member and camper there
