I got a new lens for some experimental photo fun. It’s a Diana F+ lens, and it’s made to produce photos that look a little dreamy, fuzzy. Photography using lenses such as this are typically categorized under lomography, a form of photography that consists of unorthodox snapshots.
So the other week I walked down and around alleys in Friendship Heights (the suburban DC neighborhood where I live) with my Diana lens in hand. What particularly fascinated me about the alleys were the imperfections. While the fronts of the homes are gorgeous, brick and well-maintained, the backs and garages have a little more personality. I have a ton of photos from this walk that I may put up in another post, but for now here are a few lively garages. (While I’m not in love with the results and am still practicing with the lens, I have to admit I love the unconventional twist.)
