Recess for Hope

My PR Portfolio Group class has been working closely with the Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) throughout the semester. It’s a small nonprofit based in Arlington, VA that works to build schools and sustainable communities in rural Uganda. They do such great work, and they don’t even have an office. Check out their website and watch their short film if you have 20 minutes to spare.

So this is a poster I quickly drafted for our fundraising event we’re hosting at AU this Wednesday. We’re going to organize recess-themed games like hopscotch, hula hoopoing, four square and maybe even SPUD if I can get enough people together. We’re also going to be selling ice cream bars from our generation’s childhood, as well as AAH bracelets. Anyone who buys something or donates any money gets a free Honest Tea and puts their handprint on a mural (the handprints allude to AAH’s hand logo and, of course, “lending a hand”).

Every penny raised goes right to the Arlington Academy of Hope. This should be a fun event that hopefully increases AAH’s visibility and raises some money!
