While studying in Spain, we took a group trip from Madrid to Barcelona. We broke up the seven hour drive by stopping in a small city called Zaragoza and had an hour to grab lunch. Well, I decided to roam the streets with my camera. The second I left the main cobblestone shopping strip and ventured toward the poverty-stricken alleyways, I stumbled upon the most amazing congregation of street art and murals that I had ever seen. (And if you know me, you’d know this was basically heaven.) As it turns out, the art was all part of Tercer Asalto, which was more or less a mini-festival in which various street artists came together to revamp the run-down backstreets of Zaragoza. I saw the work of some of my favorite street artists, including Blu. One of the best hours I’ve ever spent alone.
Here are a few of the photos I took. Inspired by the street art itself, I treated the photos to make them pop (and maybe look a little hand-painted).
